Car Hire - Dublin
Although many visitors come to Dublin on a plane, there are other ways to get there such as a ferry. Nobody can deny that Dublin is a wonderful city to visit, with a rich history and culture that is easy to tap into while visiting there. However, you must not ignore the fact that Dublin is also the gateway to Southern, or the Republic of, Ireland. This is an area that has to be seen to be believed and is begging to be explored, and the best way to do this bar none is with a hire car.
Those who want to spend a short time in Dublin before they go off exploring may be reluctant to go back to airport to collect their hire car, or to pay for a car that they will not be really using for a few days. There are several hire car outlets in the city centre and as we deal with all the top names, by booking in advance with us we can arrange for you to collect your vehicle from one of these points so you don't have to return to the airport until you are ready to leave. You can even drop your car off there rather than having to arrange transport to the airport, even though it is a very short distance from the city taxis don't come cheap.
A two centre holiday, so to speak, which encompasses both Dublin and the surrounding countryside is something everyone should make the effort to experience. In terms of fun, food and hospitality Dublin is very hard to beat. There are even old fashioned bars here with sawdust on the floor where locals play their instruments well into the early hours. This is is a very special city with very special residents, and a great time is had by all.
You may want to hit the road in your rental car and go where the mood takes you or you may want to plan a route in advance and visit those places you have heard of and always wanted to go. One of the most popular reasons for visiting this area is the golfing, with championship courses enjoying a backdrop of some of the most stunning scenery you will find anywhere. You can book a round in advance then take a leisurely drive there in your hire car in plenty of time to tee off.
There is a gem to be found down every road in Southern Ireland, such as Birr. This little known town is simply exquisite and is a designated Irish Heritage Town located in Co Offaly. The lovingly preserved Georgian heritage is evident at every turn, and the combination of this elegant architecture and wide, graceful streets is an absolute delight for those who chance upon it. It is 140km inland from Dublin along the M4 and N52 and there are tolls en route but boy is it worth it.
